Take a look at our confirmed speakers so far, with more to follow:

Alison Brabban – Alison is a national adviser to the Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) scheme; she will describe IAPT’s current and future vision, providing up-to-date information about IAPT’s plans and thus informing us as to how to take account of these developments in growing our services.

Sarah Brown and Rhiannon Cobner – Sarah is Interim Lead for our Community Psychology Network; she and Rhiannon work together in a unique community psychology team within NHS child and adolescent services in South Wales, and we were introduced to their approach by Liz Gregory at the inaugural conference last year.

Iyabo Fatimilehin – Iyabo is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist and set up Just Psychology as a social enterprise, a service for children, adults and families which is based in Manchester and has a strong emphasis in its practice on cultural diversity, cultural competence and social justice.

David Gilbert –  David is an Expert by Experience and will talk about a vision for our future from this perspective; he wrote The Patient Revolution and has completed a masters degree in mental health recovery and social inclusion.

Peter Kinderman – Peter is Professor of Clinical Psychology at the University of Liverpool and former BPS President; he will provide us with his unique view on where the profession is going in 2020 and how ACP-UK can influence its direction of travel.

Diana Martin – Diana is the Executive Producer and Head of Development and Digital for Panorama at the BBC. Diana will share thoughts on mental health and the responsibility of the media, with a particular focus on Panorama’s films about Whorlton Hall and Winterbourne View.  She will raise questions about destigmatisation, the media’s duty of care, what “informed consent” means, and the role of experts and academics in advising the media in its coverage.  Diana will be the speaker at the evening event on April 20th (see below for more details).

Felicitas Rost – Felicitas is Head of Psychotherapy Research at the Tavistock Clinic and the current President of the Society for Psychotherapy Research (SPR) – UK Chapter. Felicitas is the lead campaigner for change to the NICE guidelines on depression, and will talk about her experience of applying the reflective-scientific-practitioner model in an active and political way, with the aim of bringing about a shift in policy and practice.

Adrian Whittington – Adrian is the Health Education England National Lead for the Psychological Professions and has been described as the most influential clinical psychologist in England; he will provide an update on the latest developments in healthcare policy and strategy.
