Prof Mike Wang, Chair ACP-UK

The big news this autumn is that ACP-UK now actually exists as a legal entity, having been successfully registered as a not-for-profit Community Interest Company. We are very grateful to Bernard Kat, our Legal Lead, for all his hard work on this. The advent of the CIC brings with it significant infrastructure changes, not least of which is that ACP-UK is now led by a Board of Directors (12 at present).

We are delighted that a number of eminent psychologists have agreed to speak at our inaugural conference planned for 28th March 2019 (please put the date in your diary) at the Royal College of Physicians in Edinburgh, including Prof Tanya Byron, Prof Tony Lavender, Prof Glenys Parry, Prof Michael West. Sign in to your WebCollect membership account to register for the conference.

We are grateful to Alastair Duff who has been negotiating on our behalf to arrange member discounts on insurance and hotel accommodation. Arabella Kurtz has also been negotiating expert legal advice for both the organisation and also for members.
We now have a members-only area on the website where these offers may be accessed.

We are now working with a marketing company to increase our membership and income so that we can achieve our aims. This is a labour intensive period for all of the Board and we will be committing time to meetings and liaison with this company over the next six months.

The Board recently decided we need to increase the frequency of our face-to-face meetings from quarterly to bimonthly in addition to our fortnightly telephone conferences.
