ACP-UK Guidance for Clinical Psychologists on Face-to-Face Working in the Time of Covid-19

  • Dr Penelope Cream, Lead for ACP-UK COVID-19 Members’ Support Scheme

  • August, 2020

This full and authoritative guidance for Clinical Psychologists on whether and how to return to face to face working was written by ACP-UK members Penelope Cream and Kathryn Newns, together with colleagues Karen Addy and Laura French. Their collected experience covers a variety of settings including critical care, medico-legal assessment, outpatient and community work, neuropsychology and public health medicine. We were also pleased to work in collaboration with indemnity insurer Howden. The aim was to take account of the particular nature of the work clinical psychologists do as distinct from other healthcare professionals, and to produce guidance based on a thorough knowledge of the best available current medical evidence about the symptoms and transmission of COVID-19.

Below is a pdf version of the ACP-UK guidance on Face to Face Working in the Time of COVID-19: Considerations for Clinical Psychologists. It includes checklists that you can print off to guide your decision making and risk assessment procedures, as well as examples of a consent form and policy documents.
