Webinar Programme
Post-ICU Covid-19 Psychological Problems and Treatment, for Clinical Psychologists (Parts 1 & 2)

  • June, 2020

A set of two linked webinars: the first focuses on anxiety and PTSD arising from difficult, reality-based ICU experiences, including awake paralysis and mechanical ventilation; the second focuses on psychotic experiences during ICU admission, also causing Post-Covid-19 PTSD. The webinars provide an introduction to the ICU environment, some of the common psychological trauma experienced by ICU Covid-19 patients, and their treatment.

The aim of the webinars is to inform and equip clinical psychologists who may not be familiar with ICU in their understanding and care of post-ICU covid-19 people. They will bring to life the ICU environment and the practice issues which arise for clinical psychologists after discharge, and they will feature interviews with service users. The presenters will be Prof Mike Wang, Dr Dorothy Frizelle and Dr David Aaron.

The Post ICU Covid-19 webinars will take place on:

Part 1: Tuesday 23rd June at 11am-12.15pm

Part 2: Friday 3rd July at 2.30pm-3.45pm

The webinar is free for ACP-UK members. Non-members can purchase a ticket to the event for £20 through our WebCollect online booking system.
