The pandemic has brought overdue recognition for the importance of supporting healthcare staff, and many of the new services in this area are led by clinical psychologists. Dr Olivia Donnelly, Dr Emma Lishman and colleagues at North Bristol NHS Trust have co-developed a specialist staff psychology team. The service places a strong emphasis on the need for supporting compassionate and psychologically safe team cultures as core to colleague wellbeing, based on the ethos is that ‘resilience is between us, not just within us’.
