Climate Action Network

Welcome to the home page of the ACP-UK’s Climate Action Network.

Are you concerned or distressed about the impact of the climate and ecological crises?

As a psychologist or a member of the public, do you wonder how psychology can help to make a difference?

ACP-UK is a professional body of clinical psychologists which supports the need for action to address the climate and ecological crises.   In the Climate Action Network we aim to:

  • Highlight the psychological impacts of the climate and ecological crises.
  • Support engagement with these crises within the psychology profession.
  • Help people understand the normal reactions and distress related to changes in the climate and our ecology (rather than seeing these as problems of mental illness).
  • Push for changes in our systems, culture and politics, urgently needed for a survivable planet.
  • Press for a just transition, recognising that the impacts of climate breakdown are not felt equally around the globe, with those contributing least to emissions often suffering worst.

Find out below about some of the ways that we have started to take action.

How to get involved:  We welcome you to join one of our online monthly meetings, to find out more and get involved at any level. Further resources can be found here.
