Webinar Notes

This is a Psychology of Ageing Network webinar on the experiences of loneliness and isolation, combining presentations with expert speakers with discussion about the impact on our work as clinical psychologists.

Loneliness has been described as societies’ biggest challenge and interventions are being offered to people who experience loneliness and isolation. With an emphasis on later life, this webinar is relevant for people working across the lifespan. A closer look and critical appraisal of the concepts, research and evidence might be timely.

Webinar speakers:

  • Christina Victor, Professor of Gerontology and Public Health and Director Institute for Health, Medicine and Environments, Brunel University London; and
  • Stephen Katz, Professor of Sociology and Founding member of the Trent Centre for Ageing and Society,Trent University, Ontario, Canada.
