Children, Young People and Families Network

Home / Member Networks / Children, Young People and Families Network

Clinical Psychologists work with children in schools, children’s centres, hospitals, mental health teams, courts, residential settings and beyond. The children, young people and families network of the ACP aims to support Clinical Psychologists working with babies, children, young people and their families and to provide a Psychological perspective on the issues which face children and their families. We see families as a system, and recognise the multiple influences on a child’s life from individuals, services, communities and governments. The network is ambitious in its ideas and hopes to engage network members so we can improve things for all children and their families, both in our direct work and beyond at local and national levels.

Our hopes for the network are:

  • A place to discuss and make a positive difference to the issues which impact on babies, children, young people and their families
  • A way to start intervening to help improve things for children and young people, especially at a community or national level
  • A place for Clinical Psychologists working with CYPF to get peer supervision and support from colleagues
  • A place for high quality training and development activities to be planned, organised and delivered.
